Why Drainage Matters

A healthy terrarium is built from the bottom up

Water is the one thing that decides whether a sealed world thrives or struggles. Lumoss builds every terrarium on a proper drainage layer to help prevent excess water accumulating around the roots, creating a healthier environment for long-term plant growth.

  2. 3Soil layerA light, airy substrate mix holds just enough moisture for healthy root growth.
  3. 2Mesh dividerA fine barrier keeps soil from washing down and clogging the drainage below.
  4. 1Drainage layerLECA balls or stones at the base give excess water somewhere to settle, away from the roots.
